Big name brands such as Comet and Ryanair are reportedly using underhand sales tricks to con us out of money.
The companies that have today been named and shamed by a web design consultant employ designers to create websites that are deliberately ambiguous and confusing to use. Often tricking customers into paying extra for services or products that they don’t actually want or need.
Practises such as sneaking ‘reccomended’ products into your online basket or adding double binding questions to online forms are just one way that the companies have been getting more than their money’s worth from us.
Whilst not technically illegal, due to the fact the companies are being so open about their deceptions albeit, in a relatively unassuming way, there is nothing that the consumer can do about their loses.
